New student orientation begins on Friday, Aug= ust 28th. We have worked very hard to plan a fun and exciting week of event= s for the new students. Angie has done an amazing job of updating our websi= te. There is a link right from the main University webpage. http://laverne.= edu/students/orientation/ While we would love for you to come out to all of our events, we also know = you have lives and department obligations to attend to. I would just like t= o draw your attention to a few big events. Obviously, the first big day is = move in day on August 28th. We are looking to make this BIG. It is the firs= t time we get to see the new residential students. We will be in Sneaky Par= k with a DJ, snow cone machine and much more. Feel free to stop by and feel= the energy as we welcome the new students. I am sure by now you have seen Ruby's e-mail about convocation. We would al= so love for you to join us for lunch in the quad for the re-introduction of= the all La Verne Picnic. We will have club fair taking place during this t= ime as well. Finally, on Friday September 4th from 7-11 we are having a karaoke casino n= ight. We are especially excited about this event because Jonathan Reed is e= ncouraging all faculty to come and mingle with the new students. Again, we understand you are all very busy as we start the school year. Obv= iously, Angie and I will be out and about on campus more than in the office= . We would like to invite you to come and meet the new students and get to = know them. Angie has ordered orientation shirts for all of student affairs = and we hope to deliver them to you by August 26th. Please feel free to wear= it everyday!
